The court belongs to the people

All power is vested in, and consequently derived from,
THE PEOPLE.
Magistrates are their trustees and servants, and at all times amenable to them.

The court must always give the individual a meaningful chance to tell his or her side of the story.
Giving his or her day in court is of the essence of due process of Law. This is your constitutional right. The Constitution is the letter of the Law.
